SUSO December concert

5th December 2005
Francis Galloway

SUSO (Southampton University Symphony Orchestra) is a Performing Arts society run by students for students. It provides an opportunity for its members, most of whom aren’t Music students, to play in a large scale orchestra under the guidance of a professional conductor, and, of course, to socialise with other musicians at the University. Rehearsals are in the Turner Sims Concert Hall every Wednesday, followed by drinks in the Union bar immediately afterward.

On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December SUSO will be performing at the Turner Sims Concert Hall. The performance will begin at 7:30pm and tickets cost £8 for adults, £5 concessions and £3.50 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance from the Turner Sims box office by calling 023 8059 5151. The programme will consist of Sibelius’ Tapiola, Adams’ The Chairman Dances, Bernstein’s On the Waterfront and Nielsen’s Symphony No. 4, ‘The Inextinguishable’.
