Whyte 1Evan Whyte has been elected as the new VP Sports Development.

Evan received the majority of votes with 2007, and Kate Williams came a very close second with 1708 votes.

Evan Whyte will oversee the Student Leader in the Sports Development Zone. The role of Sports Participation Officer will be held by Adam Proudley is 2013-2014.

Whyte 2Evan said on stage ‘I’m really happy. I thought the other contestants were amazing!’. Evan’s campaign slogan was ‘the Karate Kid’.

This is the sixth and penultimate Sabbatical position to be elected. VP Engagement for the next academic year is Claire Gilbert and the VP Welfare is Beckie Thomas. The next position to be announced will be the Student Trustees.

The Wessex Scene will be interviewing all successful Sabbatical and Student Leaders over the next few weeks.
