Police are investigating an assault in Bedford Place that led to a 20-year-old man suffering injuries to his hand and face.
Between 1am and 2:30am on Friday March 14th, the victim is believed to have been attacked while walking to get a taxi with friends. They saw a group of men and women across the road shouting at them, and one of the women from the group approached them. The victim can then recall waking up about 30 minutes later having been assaulted.
He suffered a broken thumb, a hairline fracture on his right cheekbone, bruising to his face and a sprained neck during the assault. He received hospital treatment for his injuries. Detectives are looking to speak to potential witnesses at the scene who could potentially provide a description of the group of men and women who approached the victim.
