Winchester Plan to Host Public Meeting on War in Syria


A public discussion on the current war in Syria is to be held in Winchester later next month.

Local organisations and churches are planning a public conference at the United Church on Jewry Street on the evening of Wednesday September 17th.

Planned by Hampshire Downs Catholic Justice and Peace Group, along with Winchester Churches Together, the meeting is to designate Syria in Crisis: Seeking Hope in Desolation.

The conference will be chaired by Professor Mary Grey, theologian, along with Rev Andrew Ashdown, who is scheduled to speak at the meeting.
