According to a stenographer at an event at Brown University on Wednesday, the Dalai Lama ended a speech on World Peace with a blunt ‘f*** it’ to an assembled crowd of students, a use of profanity that all involved are vehemently denying ever happened.
Large screens showing a live feed of the speech had been set up for people unable to hear the man himself, but the closed captioning mistakenly implied that the exiled Tibetan leader ended the speech by telling the gathered listeners to go do one.
The Dalai Lama’s translator has verified since that the actual phrase used was ‘forget it’, the full sentence being “If you feel that these points are not much relevant – not much interest – then forget”.
Worryingly, this isn’t the first time his Holiness has been misheard when saying ‘forget’, so maybe this whole Buddhist thing is a facade and he’s actually a hard-drinking profane party animal. Thoughts?

I hope he said f*ck it. The Dalai Lama is not a politician, he’s a spiritual leader and so has licence to be natural
