The team was set up just over a year ago for female staff members and postgraduates or mature students. We are a friendly bunch who enjoy having a kick around once a week, at the moment this takes place at Wide Lane university pitches between 7pm and 9pm on Tuesday evenings. Also, we are taking part in the university's new intra-mural ladies 5-a-side tournament on a Wednesday between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. The big bonus for many of our members is that we play all year round, including over the summer vacation, when other sports clubs at the university have temporarily closed down. As well as all the football, there is a social element to the club, with regular curry evenings. The aim of Staff Club Ladies Football is to create a fun environment to enjoy the game and keep fit.
