Varsity 2014 is only a month away as Wide Lane will play host to this year’s competition on Sunday the 9th of March.

University of Southampton will be looking to reclaim the trophy from Portsmouth University and put the controversy of 2013 behind them.

The Varsity rulebook has been changed and confirmed by both Evan Whyte (VP Sports Development for Southampton) and Richard Glover (VP Sport for Portsmouth) in an attempt to avoid the confusion over the final result last year. This year, the points gained before the 9th will be agreed upon by both universities to clarify the overall score.

The 9th of March will also coincide with the launch of the Team Southampton kit, provided by Under Armour. The move will see the unifying of the team kits, which will now be based around the team colours of burgundy and gold.
