The big date may be just under two weeks away but some of our sports teams are already making strides towards ensuring the Varsity Cup returns home to Southampton this year.

After this weekend’s fixtures, Southampton have extended their impressive lead over Portsmouth to 16-0 after excelling in our performances in the few pre-varsity events.

They included wins for both the Men’s and Ladies’ Surfing teams, ensuring eight points were accumulated to Southampton’s total. The Mountaineering club also won their event, adding another four points to the score.

This week’s schedule includes Wakeboarding tomorrow and Road Cycling on Sunday, before the last pre-varsity event on 8th March; the infamous Downhill Mountain Biking. As it stands, Southampton are in an ideal position leading up to the big day on March 9th.
