Tchoukball final score: Southampton win with 56-51
We’d like to apologise for the last pun. Our Pause Editor has been out in the a lot today.
5-3 in the men’s seconds for Badminton and a 4-4 draw for the firsts. Badminton? More like Greatminton!
Results for the men’s fencing are in: 135-107. Another win for Soton.
Another win for Soton in the ladies basketball. They beat Portsmouth 70-25.
Rumours here from Highfield that some of the badminton matches will be cancelled because supporters and players are drinking on site. Zero tolerance, literally.
It’s 23-8 now in the women’s basketball with an acrobatic shot from the edge of the area. Top notch.
No tweed related disasters here at Highfield. Wide Lane must be suffering.
If only Dominos were at Highfield. Mind you, the Bridge would be put out business.
Men’s dodgeball finished 9-5 and ladies won 11-3 so that’s two more wins for TeamSouthampton.
It’s 21-7 to Southampton in the ladies’ basketball.
We can see a Marshall amp on the side of the court. In that case, the half-time show should be fantastic.
The men’s squash 2nds have won 15-4.
Our Twitter feeds are getting crossed with Kings College London, who are also competing today. There’s only one real Varsity though.
It’s currently 16-4, for those of you that care about the score – which should be most of you.
Dissent in the basketball and Portsmouth are not happy with the physicality. Personally, I would not like to fall on this court.
14-4 now in the ladies basketball, but there’s still a long way to go.
Surge Radio were nearly decimated then by a runaway basketball. It’d make for great commentary in fairness.
Update on the basketball and it’s 10-2 to Southampton.
W’ere underway in the women’s basketball and Portsmouth take an early lead, 2-0.
According to our own DCI David Martin, it’s 106-42 overall. Unconfirmed, but it’s a good sign surely?
We’re hearing there’s a vuvuzela being played back at Wide Lane. Nothing like that down here, just the tunes courtesy of Surge Radio.
Our own DCI is struggling to find the score cards and the teamsheets. It’d be tragic if those results got lost.
I’ll be honest, I’ve lost track of the badminton. I got distracted.
Onto the Ladies 1sts basketball. If it’s half the game that the men’s was, we’re in for a cracker.
The Ladies 1sts have won the fencing 131 to 93. It’s all adding up to a big win we hope.
There’s a whole crowd of Team Southampton supporters behind the hoop. They’re hoping Portsmouth miss…but they don’t!
What happened to the Mask? We’re not sure, not even President-elect David Mendoza-Wolfson is.
It’s 59-58 in the basketball with moments left…
Home and away crowds are very vocal down here in the Jubilee. Great atmosphere.

In the squash, men’s won 5-0 and the ladies drew 2-2 but win on points.
All that Pompey are chanting for is defense, but they need to score some more. They need a new coach I think. It’s now 55-44 to Southampton in the basketball.
Retraction: we’re actually winning, we’ve not won…yet.

At least somebody is…
@adamjones_28 loving these live chat puns. Straight out of the top drawer.

Men’s and mixed table tennis wins for Southampton back at Highfield and another win on the trampolining
Pompey have also won the Men’s 2nds event in the cricket, winning by 18 runs in a much tighter affair than the 1sts.
The Trampolining sure does put a spring in everyone’s step…
I can confirm that everyone here is jumping to inhuman heights. They’re clearly all genetically-modified super soldiers.
Watching the trampolining now, but we won’t know the results until 11:30!
Portsmouth have won the women’s volleyball, and the men’s is just about to start.
Pompey win comfortably in the Men’s 1st team cricket event with over 4 overs to spare. Varsity hotting up very nicely at Highfield. Pompey fans chanting ‘We’re the best team in Hampshire’. Laughable.
Rumour has it Price is dosed up heavily on every painkiller under the sun to be able to play today. What a trooper.
Southampton also won the men’s and women’s 100m fly, and the women just won the 100m backstroke.
Pompey need 89 to win from their 10 overs, this result really hanging in the balance. Tom Price and his dodgy hip bowling first for Southampton

Live at the swimming pool now, where Southampton have won the women’s medley relay, the men’s medley relay, the women’s medley individual and the men’s medley individual, the women’s 100m freestyle and men’s 100m freestyle.
Alex Podmore with some great hitting so far. He’s causing all of the Pompey players to stand on the back wall behind the bowler anticipating shots back over his head. Southampton have 87 off 9 overs.
The 1sts are currently 52-3 off 6 overs with both teams currently trading blows. Could go either way this one
Men’s cricket club legend Andrew Wooding spearheading the Southampton chants. Thankfully he’ll be nowhere near the field of play today.
First wicket down for the Men’s cricketers sending the Pompey support into raptures and the ‘Poznan’ celebration. Southampton still in a strong position though after 5 overs.
One over down, and Southampton are running away with it.
Impromptu rendition of Jerusalem now from the Men. So glad somebody thought to bring along an instrument.
And that’s it! First result in the bag for #TeamSoton as the Ladies cricketers thrash Pompey convincingly.
Some contention over whether the Southampton Men’s Cricket are using a trumpet or a horn, according to the chants. For clarification, Portsmouth, is a trumpet.
Elsewhere on Highfield the Swimming, Ladies’ Volleyball and Men’s squash events are all under way.
Some solid batting from Portsmouth, but another wicket taken by Tress and reaching that total is starting to look pretty difficult.
Southampton have taken three wickets in two overs, pretty great start!
Two wickets off two consecutive balls. Bowler Dee Tress is on fire.
Southampton take a wicket on the first ball!
Quite an atmosphere building in the Old Sports Hall in the Ladies Cricket event. The girls have not been intimidated by the large amount of Pompey support, posting a score of 157-3 off their 10 overs.
We’re here covering the action taking place on campus today, and our team up at Wide Lane are doing a liveblog from there too! Keep checking back to see how the day turns out!
