The Gospel Train: It’s often been wondered why, after many years, Alabama 3 have remained a ‘cult act.’ They’ve sold out numerous tours and yet have never really gained any significant success.

From the evidence of this single, I’d say it’s because although they may be a great live act, songs like this just don’t really do much or go anywhere. They mix their genres well (gospel, country and trip-hop in this case), but ultimately just come across as a slightly less annoying, countrified Fun Lovin’ Criminals. The song also rips off Dylan’s ‘Lay Lady Lay’ so blatantly it’s not even funny.
