The new single is an abrasive piece of Hard-Fi imitation indie-pop that bounces over soft, cheesy synthesisers, and walls of unimaginatively arranged guitar choruses. B-side ‘Dear Lydia’ fares little better, exhibiting the same excessive, harsh quality that characterised ‘Open Your Window’. ‘Paris at Night’ the single’s third track is a far more interesting effort. Reminiscent of recent Oasis output, the song is a moody, acoustic guitar ballad that exhibits Jon McClure’s impressive vocal range.
‘Open Your Window’ is out now on Wall of Sound.
