Beardyman to Headline Freshers’ Ball


Human beatboxer Beardyman has been revealed as the headline act at this year’s Freshers’ Ball.

Joining him in providing the night’s entertainment are:

  • Radio 1 star Nihal
  • Chris Stark from the Scott Mills show on Radio 1
  • Danny Jones from Mcfly
  • Dance DJ A. Skillz 
  • Drum ‘n’ bass performer Harry Shotta
  • Local soul/jazz outfit Freddie and the Freeloaders.

The £25 tickets have sold out for the event which takes place at 9pm this Saturday at the Union.

Former headline acts include Chase & Status in 2010 and Calvin Harris in 2009.

Beardyman, whose real name is Darren Foreman, is renowned for his innovative fusion of energetic beatboxing, live looping technology and sense of humour.

After winning the UK Beatbox Championships in 2006 and 2007, Beardyman went on to achieve considerable musical success and is a regular feature at the festivals.

The BBC have dubbed him “King of Sound and Ruler of Beats”.
