Three students were escorted from the premises over the alleged stealing of a girl’s mobile phone
5 police officers and 2 security guards were on Level One of the Hartley library and were overheard questioning three college students and a female student from the University about the theft of her mobile phone.
Police took the details of the college student, one of whom we understand was named Mohammed, age 17, with no past criminal convictions.
One of the three males denies all allegations, and was working in the library when questioned by police.
One eyewitness working in the area of level one overheard that ‘the uni library want them (the alleged thieves) to leave to keep the peace’.
A police car was parked outside the library during the incident.
This only a week after a fight broke out in the Foyer Area of Hartley Library.
