Hampshire To-Do List (August 2014)


If you’re stuck in Southampton for the summer you then know how uneventful it can be at this time of the year. Earlier we posted an article about the amazing Bournemouth Air Festival.

However, if you aren’t crazy about aircrafts and military gear, but you still want to get out of Southampton for a while, don’t panic, Hampshire has some intriguing events to offer for you too!

Live Music Night in Portsmouth

The Spinnaker tower in Portsmouth (£ 6.75 tickets for advance online bookings) is holding Live music nights every week of August starting from the 7th at 19:00. Listen to great music while enjoying the scenic views all the way up from the tower!

Fareham Art Trail is the first event of its kind to be held in Fareham and is something all art-lovers will enjoy and is free! Although most opportunities for artists to get involved are now closed, you can still go and enjoy the art!

Art, Design, Antiques and Vintage Market


On the 25th Aug in Hythe Village, near Southampton, there will be an open-air market showcasing a variety of arts, crafts and antiques. The event promises a vibrant atmosphere and an excellent experience.


Guildhall Summer Sessions

Up until the end of August every Thursday and Friday evening you can enjoy free music entertainment just outside the Guildhall in Portsmouth. Great food and beverage deals will be on offer at the outside café, including tapas, wine, cocktails.


Southern Motor Show

motorbikeFinally for all motorcycle fans there’s the Southern Motor Show between the 15th-17th Aug, with advance tickets at £25 (weekend ticket) and £15 for a day ticket. It will be held less than 30 miles away from Southampton.
