Panto Raises Nearly £2000 for Charity

The Forty Pound Theatre Company has beaten their record for last year, raising £1,915 for the Joe Glover Trust. Consisting of University of Southampton students and members of the local community, the Forty Pound Theatre Company put on ‘The Government Inspector’ for a week in December for the children’s cancer charity. Run every year by English lecturer Dr. Julie Campbell, she said, ‘our actors have done a great thing raising so much money this year and I am very proud of them’.

At the handover of a large cheque on April 21st, there was already speculation about what play will be put on next and if this new record could be broken. In answer to this, there was a resounding ‘oh, yes we can!’ from everyone present.
