BBC to Hit Campus This Week for Students Vs Academics Battle

0

BBC Radio 4 will be taking over the Turner Sims concert hall this Wednesday to record their new radio quiz show, ‘The 3rd Degree’.

The show, which will be aired in the new year, sees students of Southampton pitched against their lecturers from the University, answering general knowledge and specialist question in both ‘Highbrow’ and ‘Lowbrow’ rounds.

Three students and three lecturers will compete against each other. For whatever academic subject the member of staff represents, there will be a matching student of that subject on the other team, creating three specialist subject rounds from the particular courses represented.

The quiz travels to a different university each week and is hosted by Steve Punt, the popular comedian who co-hosts ‘The Now Show’ with Hugh Dennis. Punt will also be live on Surge radio on Wednesday afternoon.

Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start, and entry for the event is free.

Students can book a place in the audience by e-mailing info@turnersims.co.uk.
