Fun in the Sun at RAGfest 2011

Excellent weather brought good cheer and a fantastic atmosphere to the campus for this year’s RAGfest, which raised just over £1000 for charity. The annual event is a great opportunity to introduce freshers to RAG and its causes, as well as providing a much-welcomed boost to charity funds.

The numerous events that took place included a BBQ, stand-up comedy and an inter-committee fundraising competition. This was won by Connaught JCR, which managed to collect an impressive £95 in 20 minutes.

RAG coordinator Adam Moloney said ‘Ragfest is a prime example of people from all different walks of life joining together to put on a great event. It’s the perfect opportunity for union collaboration, fundraising, publicity and above all a whole lot of fun’.
