Police from New Milton are seeking information following a burglary that involved a Samurai sword and other possessions worth £2,500.
From between noon on Saturday 21, September and noon on Monday 24, September, someone broke into a ground floor flat in Ashley and following a search of the premises stole several of the owner’s personal items.
The missing possessions include a 42-inch Paul Chen Samurai sword with a ray-skin handle, a 40-inch Samsung flat screen television and 22-inch LG flat screen television (along with their remote controls). Other items comprise a Blackberry Tablet, Sony HD camcorder, a Kodak pocket camera, Samsung digital camera, Phillips headphones and a memory card with martial arts training footage.
PC Graham Wilkins is leading the investigation and he had this to say:
“I need to hear from anyone who saw or heard unusual activity or unfamiliar people in that area during the 48 hours in question. There would have been the noise of breaking glass, and the intruder probably used a vehicle.”
“I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who saw a suspicious vehicle in the area of Ashley Cross Road or Ashtree Close and anyone who has been offered any of the items since the burglary.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Wilkins at New Milton on 101.
