Kevin Davis-Walton, a 54-year-old chef at Connaught Halls of Residence, has been found ‘safe and well’ after being reported missing for two weeks.
A friend, Andrew Hall, 26, of Janson Road, Shirley, spotted him in the High Street near the Bargate at around 6.30pm yesterday.
Mr Hall said: “I was in town and saw him and I said to him ‘the police have been looking for you and everyone has been worried about you’.
“I rang 101 and stayed with him until the police arrived. I was surprised he had gone missing because he enjoys his job as a chef at the university.”
As previously reported in the Wessex Scene, concern had been growing for Mr. Davis-Walton, who had not been seen at his flat in York Close, had no mobile phone or transport, no next of kin or known close friends.
A police spokesman has confirmed Davis-Walton was found ‘safe and well’.
