Sexual Assault in Southampton Suburb

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Townhill Park early on Saturday morning.

The 35-year-old victim was walking home from the Big Cheese pub on West End Road some time between 12:30am and 1:30am. Along the route down Townhill Way and Meggeson Avenue, she was dragged into some bushes and assaulted.

Officers are attempting to contact three men who left the pub with her, as she became separated from them on her journey. They are not suspects, but may have information on the assault. One man is believed to be called Phil, and the other goes by ‘Twigs’.

The attacker is described as 5ft 6inches tall, with blonde hair in a quiff style. He wore a navy coat and had very bright blue eyes.

Anyone with information on the attack should contact Detective Constable Tom Hewitt in the Western Area CID Team at Southampton Central Police Station on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
