The foreshore at Weston has been sealed off by police after parts of a human body were discovered there this morning.
The remains were discovered at 8:25 today by dog walker, who alerted the police after finding them near the yacht club.
The area was sealed off and the remains recovered, but it is not known at this time whether the body is male or female. They have been removed to a hospital for a post mortem examination, which will take place this afternoon.
Police are focussing their investigations on discovering the identity of the deceased, and checking against local missing persons records. While there is nothing at this time to indicate that this is suspicious, officers are waiting on the results of the post mortem to continue the investigation.
Though part of the foreshore will remain closed off whilst the area is searched, it will be reopened as soon as possible.
