Saints legend and Gillette Soccer Saturday favourite Matt Le Tissier delighted football and ice cream fans alike by helping to officially open a new ice cream parlour in Southampton.
The ex-Southampton player posed for photos with fans, signed autographs and took it upon himself to devour a banana and toffee split with his friend, another former Saints player, Nicky Banger.
Nicky, who knows the owner of the new outlet as result of his involvement at Woking F.C, arranged the visit.
After a donation from the ice cream parlour of £500 to the Hampshire Hornets Wheelchair Basketball club, members were invited down to join in the celebrations. Nicky’s 10-year old daughter plays for the Hampshire Hornets.
To cap off an exciting day, Matt left with a cupcake designed in commemoration of himself which was made especially for the occasion.
