New Avenue Campus Library Facilities Now Open

The new Library and Learning Commons facility on Avenue Campus opened earlier this week.

Improvement work was carried out over the summer break as phase 1 of a plan to redevelop the study space on the upper floor of the Parkes Building. Changes made to the library service include the addition of self-service loan machines and a new helpdesk, as well as additional individual and group study space and the ability to return books loaned from other sites.

The space formerly occupied by Avenue Library has now been closed so that Phase 2 of the improvements to study space can be carried out. The area will be revamped to create additional individual and group study space, as well as new digital facilities. Work is expected to be completed in November 2015.

Avenue Library resources are now accessible between 8:30am and 7:30pm on weekdays and between 10am and 5pm on weekends. The new study spaces can be accessed between 8am and 11pm every day.
