Man Injured In London Road Crash


A pizza delivery driver was injured after his moped collided with a car on London Road yesterday evening (Thursday 8th October). 

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene of the incident, which happened at around 6.30pm this evening at the junction with Carlton Crescent.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Hampshire Police said that the man, who is reported to be in his 30s , is conscious and breathing. It has also been confirmed that the other vehicle involved in the collision was a red Alfa Romeo.

One eyewitness, who was outside the nearby Varsity pub at the time of the incident, told the Echo that the delivery driver went over the roof of the car involved in the crash and hit another vehicle before falling into the street.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service later confirmed they had sent one ambulance to the scene of the crash and the delivery driver’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
