Talking Heads Pub to Leave Portswood

The Talking Heads, a popular music venue in Portswood, is to move to new premises in The Polygon, with student flats expected to take the place of the venue.

The venue, which has been open at 320 Portswood Road since the 1980’s as the Red Lion and rebranded as a music venue in 1992, is going to move to larger premises at 16-22 The Polygon, according to its Facebook page. The move is expected to take place in February, where it will replace The Maple Leaf.

Planning permission was granted in September 2014 for 18 student flats at the venue, having previously been refused in 2013. There was a very low level of objection to the loss of the Talking Heads as a venue.

All previous booking made will be honoured.
