Glen Eyre Road will soon benefit from resurfaced footpaths and a new pedestrian crossing as part of improvement works starting on 29th March.
The works will take four weeks and will also include the creation of a new bus pull-in for routes stopping at South Hill and Glen Eyre Halls of residence.
Intended to support the redevelopment of the Chamberlain Hall of Residence, the work will take place in three phases, the first of which will see the installation of new bellmouths and drainage along the pavement. The second and third phases which will follow consist of the construction of the new bus pull-in bay, pedestrian crossing and the base of a new cycle shelter in the Hartley Grove car park.
To help ease congestion, the road will be reduced to single file traffic with temporary traffic signals in operation for the duration of the work.
