A 42 year-old man was stabbed in a daylight robbery down Northam Road near the Prince of Wales public house.
The victim was hospitalised after he was approached by another man who became aggressive and demanded money the Daily Echo reports.
The 42 year-old man resisted the attacker but suffered a stab wound and was taken to hospital.
The incident happened at around 11:00 on Saturday 1st October, details of the attack have only been released today.
The attacker has been described as a white male of around 40 years of age. He is noted to be 6′ 1″ and of a slender build. The attacker has short, mousey-coloured receding hair and a skinny face. He was wearing a dark blue and grey tracksuit and white trainers with blue stripes.
Detective Constable Paddy Coughlin from the Western Investigation Team told the Echo: “This was [a]violent attack that happened in broad daylight on a busy Saturday morning.
“We believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public, however we are keen to trace the man described.
“I am certain people would have witnessed this incident.”
