Jailbreak 2016 is now in full swing. All 27 teams set off from Highfield campus at 9am this morning. These very brave students, in the next 36 hours will try to get as far away as possible from Southampton with no money – and all for charity! Wessex Scene will not only be following Team Brexit on their adventures, but we will be keeping you updated, right here, with all the best bits of the weekend. So, stay tuned!

Just under 34 hours in and boredom takes it’s toll in RAG HQ
In the final stages of the Great North Run, Surge have recently announced that they are briefly stopping in Perth ahead of their Inverness final destination… Surge looking in control of this battle now
3 hours to go until Jailbreak 2016 is over – the race isn’t over yet!
The jailbreak tracker currently seems to be showing one team in Iran (despite appearing to be in the UK 10 minutes ago) mapmishap …
Jailbreak descends upon Paris! The city of love has emerged as this year’s popular destination. Four teams, ‘The 2 T’s’, ‘WHADDAYATALKENABEET’, ‘Yung Explorers’, and ‘From Monte to Montenegro’, have all reached France’s capital – it must be the weather!
Surge Radio have just spoken to the Team from Gran Canaria. Word is that it’s 23 degrees, nice and warm and their flight was merely £30 a head return! We’re so jealous. They also said their hotel has a pool. They’ve gone on holiday for free!
The Bailers have made it to Gambia and guess what? They’re planning to go further!
Team Poke Eggs made it to Gran Canaria, 1749 miles away!
Meanwhile, which of the two uni media teams (SURGE or SUSUtv) will make it further north? They’re currently in Glasgow and Edinburgh, respectively.
Team DAZ, having returned from Faro, Portugal, are now fundraising back in sunny Southampton. Good job!
A quick update at the hour of our Lord, 14:23. Team Brexit is still in Copenhagen, at an impressive 661 miles. However, The Bailers are completely wiping the floor on their way to Gambia, at 1905 miles! The team in Gran Canaria must have felt safe with their 1749 miles….
Good morning everyone. Quick update for you all!
Team Brexit have now landed in sunny Copenhagen, managing to avoid Storm Angus, whilst overnight a team touched down in Faro. We also have teams in Ireland, Paris, Amsterdam and Scotland. One team recently boarded a fight to Gran Canaria and Team Bailers are now on their six hour flight to Gambia. Phew!
