Southampton Student Denies Accusation of Hacking

SUSU Disability Officer Matthew Higgins, 19, of Colwyn Bay,  has denied charges of impersonating a parent to access a child’s records while studying at his former High School.

On Monday the first-year Biomedical student pleaded not guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court to one offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

It is alleged that Higgins caused a computer to perform a function with intent to secure unauthorised access whilst studying at Eirias High School in North Wales.

Higgins asked for the case to be heard at Crown Court, and was bailed. If found guilty he could face up to two years imprisonment.

After the hearing Higgins said he was looking forward to clearing his name.

Apparently there is some concern over being contemptuous of courts. Joe M would be the man to ask.
