On Saturday 23rd February, a student house on Holyrood Avenue was burgled and a laptop and cash were stolen.
Police believe that the burglar accessed the garden as a result of an insecure gate. They then think he climbed up a drainpipe and entered the house via an open window while the tenants were in the house.
This particular burglary occurred when residents were in the house but away from their ground floor bedroom. I would urge all students to please make every effort to avoid becoming a victim by securing your valuables even if you are not very far away – DC Jenna Osman
DC Osman has also urged students to contact their landlords if the rear of their property in not very secure because the house burgled on Saturday had a low fence and no lock on the garden gate.
If you have any information about the Burglary, please call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
