A student fell approximately 60ft from a student accommodation complex yesterday.

Paramedics tried to save the 20 year old student before reaching Southampton General Hospital, where he sadly died from his injuries.

The ambulance service stated that they took the man to hospital with life threatening injuries, which he had sustained from falling from the Liberty Quays building.

The police were called to the building on Dukes Street after a body was found outside the complex. An investigation has been launched but police have found no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fall.

Liberty Living, the company managing complex, have sent all residents a letter, encouraging them to seek support support if they had been affected by what happened. Witnesses have been offered counselling.
