The University of Southampton has placed 50th in the Times Higher Education (THE) ‘100 most interational universities in the world 2015’ survey.
The list, which extends from the THE’s World University Rankings, uses the ‘international outlook’ indicator from these rankings by taking into consideration each institution’s international student numbers and percentage of international staff. Published research papers with a co-author from at least one other country are also considered.
Although Southampton’s rank amongst UK universities has dropped from 25th to 27th since last year, it has placed nine places higher in the world. This overall rise links in favourably with the university’s aim to become globally connected.
