BREAKING: SUSU Election Candidates Revealed


Today the SUSU Election candidates were officially announced.

The same number of Sabbatical positions are available this year, and the same number of positions have been contested despite the fact there are slightly fewer candidates in comparison to last year.

There are two new Student Leader positions this year including Charities and Community Officer and Housing Officer which both have candidates.

There are fewer positions available for Student Leaders this year as in 2014, 33 positions were available whereas this year, 30 positions are available.

Here is a list of all the candidates, 52 in total:

    Can your next article have a quote from the president on the much lower sabb candidate number, the poorer level of sabb competition, in terms of only 1 position having more than 2 people contesting, and the continued poor representation of female candidates – and then have a critical thought piece on it?

    Seems like a perfectly legitimate conversation to have out there – don’t let any “itl take away from the spectacle of elections” waffle fly.
